Mathematics is a skill for life. Therefore, the learning of mathematics needs to be related to real life situations and must involve a considerable amount of problem-solving.

The whole staff has undertaken a project to lift the level of Mathematics teaching and learning at St Therese. Professional Development has been undertaken to discover best practice and teachers have worked collaboratively with their colleagues to share new knowledge and to support each other in using new ideas.

The main ideas to which we are all working, are hands-on activities, real-life problem-solving, reflection on learning, differentiating learning tasks to suit individual needs and the use of assessment to ascertain need.
