I welcome you to the St Therese Catholic Primary School website. I hope that you use this facility to find the information you need and to get to know this happy, thriving school.
I am very proud to be the Principal of St Therese Catholic Primary School, leading an enthusiastic team of professionals who have the best interests of the students at the heart of their work. The school has a long tradition of caring and educating the children of the St Therese Parish in the Catholic tradition. Jesus said “I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full” [John 10:10] and this is what we aim to give the children who have been entrusted to our care.
We believe in a broad education of the whole person, guiding and nurturing the children in our care spiritually, physically, academically and emotionally. Cultural pursuits such as music, art and poetry deepen the educational experience of academic and physical education. Embedded in all of this is the realisation that we are children of God, with a variety of gifts and abilities and, through our growing relationship with God, we can become the people he intended us to be and, therefore, make a positive difference in our world. Our aim is to assist each child to discover his/her best self and to provide opportunities for the development of skills and knowledge to the maximum level of which each child is capable. In the 21st Century, we are all connected to the global neighbourhood and so, through technology and participation in community events and fundraising for charitable works, we aim to encourage each child to take an active role in the real world.
We work in close partnership with the parish and parents, who are encouraged to be an active part of the school community, through Parents and Friends involvement, as well as classroom and sporting assistance. Parents are always welcome to meet with teachers and me to discuss issues and to plan together for the benefit of the students.
